Know of any nonprofits in our community that support our soldiers and veterans? Considering Redstone Arsenal is a vital part of our city's heartbeat, you may be a veteran or even work for one of these organizations! Causeway HSV wants to give and give some more!

We will be accepting nine causes into our Veterans and Military Nonprofit Matching Grant Program and giving matching grants of up to $1,000! Alls ya need to do is create a cause for your organization, rally the support for your cause, and we will match your fundraising support dollar for dollar up to a grand. Create your cause under our Causes tab or pass on the news to your veteran and military supporters and nonprofit partners.

Now that's what we call good 'ole fashioned patriotism!

Stellar Support from around Huntsville at the Launch into the Rocket City

Causeway Huntsville kicked off a launch party on March 31 at Below the Radar, and boy, did we feel the love from the surrounding Huntsville/Madison County communities.

With organizations stopping by amidst the tornado sirens and looming ominous clouds such as the Land Trust of North Alabama, Downtown Huntsville, Inc., representatives from Mayor Tommy Battle’s office, NOVA Huntsville and Bikes and Brews, an energizing vibe permeated throughout the local micro-pub. Over 50 new Causeway users created profiles and received a spiffy and rather soft t-shirt and Below the Radar donated a percentage of its sales for every beer sold that evening. Our featured cause of the event was Park with a Purpose, a pocket park popping up just across the street in the alleyway near the new Pints and Pixels dive. Check out their cause under Current Causes on the website. Not only did we have some stellar support from community partners, but we also chatted with WHNT News 19 and WAAY 31 as they interviewed Les Tillery, Causeway Huntsville's Board President and one of the original founders of CW HSV.

Major shout outs to Mark Umansky and his staff of amazingness of Below the Radar for hosting our event and making it happen. Also, thank you to the Park with a Purpose team for featuring their project and sharing it with all the folks that came out to the launch. Congrats to Harrison Diamond for winning the chance-to-win Huntsville Depot cityscape painting donated by local artist, Douglas C. Hess. It was great to meet new faces and connect with familiar ones, too.

And now, on to the next cause, the next idea, the next fundraising effort as Causeway Huntsville sinks its roots deeper into the Rocket City.

Causeway HSV Launch

Causeway Huntsville is putting down some roots in the Rocket City. Join us for our launch party coming up on Thursday, March 31 at Below the Radar Brewing Company from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. For every Below the Radar beer purchase, BTR will donate $1 to Causeway Huntsville. CW HSV t-shirts will be given to those who create a profile at the launch.

The featured cause for the night will be Leadership Huntsville Connect group project, Park with a Purpose. This project will take a small, neglected area of downtown and create a “pocket park”. The park will revitalize and create a pleasing space for activities downtown. Once complete, the vision for the park is to hold monthly activities to support local charities. You can be a part of this awesome idea and make a donation of any amount to support this cause, or you can even learn more about how you can get involved!

Did we mention you'll have a chance-to-win a painting (valued at $125) of the Huntsville Depot cityscape by local artist Douglas C. Hess?! Check out this talented guy at bit.ly/1SnSw1S.

Come out and join us at our launch party. Causeway Huntsville wants to meet you, hear your ideas, see your passion and connect you with other Huntsvillians. We need causes. We need ways. Let’s connect!
