Causeway Huntsville kicked off a launch party on March 31 at Below the Radar, and boy, did we feel the love from the surrounding Huntsville/Madison County communities.
With organizations stopping by amidst the tornado sirens and looming ominous clouds such as the Land Trust of North Alabama, Downtown Huntsville, Inc., representatives from Mayor Tommy Battle’s office, NOVA Huntsville and Bikes and Brews, an energizing vibe permeated throughout the local micro-pub. Over 50 new Causeway users created profiles and received a spiffy and rather soft t-shirt and Below the Radar donated a percentage of its sales for every beer sold that evening. Our featured cause of the event was Park with a Purpose, a pocket park popping up just across the street in the alleyway near the new Pints and Pixels dive. Check out their cause under Current Causes on the website. Not only did we have some stellar support from community partners, but we also chatted with WHNT News 19 and WAAY 31 as they interviewed Les Tillery, Causeway Huntsville's Board President and one of the original founders of CW HSV.
Major shout outs to Mark Umansky and his staff of amazingness of Below the Radar for hosting our event and making it happen. Also, thank you to the Park with a Purpose team for featuring their project and sharing it with all the folks that came out to the launch. Congrats to Harrison Diamond for winning the chance-to-win Huntsville Depot cityscape painting donated by local artist, Douglas C. Hess. It was great to meet new faces and connect with familiar ones, too.
And now, on to the next cause, the next idea, the next fundraising effort as Causeway Huntsville sinks its roots deeper into the Rocket City.
